Description
Boiled In Lead went into the studio on February 6th, 2012, completing this four-song EP in under six weeks. The Well Below is the debut of the band’s new lineup with Marc Anderson on drums joining masterful guitarist Dean Magraw and BiL veterans Todd Menton, Drew Miller and David Stenshoel.
The EP includes:
- Wedding Dress — from deep in the holler, BiL’s take on the Roscoe Holcomb classic
- The Well Below The Valley — one of the bloodiest incest and murder ballads in the Irish tradition, driven by drums and drones
- Western Borders — a beloved Minnesota ballad by John Van Orman (writer of BiL classics “Madman Mora Blues” and “Death on Hennepin”)
- Transylvanian Stomp — typically irresponsible medley of dance tunes from Hungary and Romania
With ghostly imagery scanned from century-old glass negatives, Boiled In Lead continue their journey in music.
